FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The hire period – how long is this for?

The entire venue will be available to you from 2 p.m.the day before the wedding and until 12 p.m. the day after. We are however happy for suppliers to drop things off the morning of your arrival.

What is included in the hire of the accommodation?

All of our properties are self contained. They all have their own kitchen, dining and sitting room. We provide everything that you will require for a comfortable stay with us. We have 5-star quality linen and towels. Bath and shower gel, toilet roll and cleaning products. We can even provide you with a hamper of local produce for each property from the local farmers market if you wish.

Can we supply our own drinks?

No. We have a fully stocked bar and comprehensive wine list available for your day.

Do you have a pay bar?

Yes, we do. The cost is set to local pub prices. There is no charge to you for the staff. A copy of our drinks price list is on the catering page of the website. If you have any special drink requirements then please let us know and we will do our best to provide it for you. A keg or two of real ale can be provided if you let us know in advance. We now have Adnams Bitter on tap at all times!

May we leave our cars overnight?

Yes. We have car parking for 50 and an over flow car park if you have more than this.

How often can we visit the Barn before the wedding?

You are welcome to come as often as you wish! As long as you make an appointment so your visit doesn’t clash with another function. You are also free to meet any of your wedding suppliers here. We are keen for you to get to know the venue and to feel at home. Please call us before your arrival to arrange for a member of staff to show you around. I’m afraid that weekends are very busy so we can’t promise that you will be able to visit then, a week day is preferable.

Is confetti allowed at White Dove Barns?

Yes, but it must be thrown outside on the lawn and we prefer for you to use rose petals – it must be bio-degradable.

Can we have a band or DJ?

Of course a wedding reception wouldn’t be the same without one! The band or D.J.’s can set up in the barn whilst the wedding breakfast is being served in the marquee. Obviously this depends on the time of the wedding ceremony but we expect this to be between 3-6 p.m. The band or DJ must stop playing at 12 a.m.

At what time does the evening end?

Guests that are not staying on site are asked to book their taxis for midnight. Any bands or D.J.’s must stop playing at 12 a.m.

How many guests can I invite to my wedding?

We have a wedding license for 128 people in total to be seated in our ceremony room in the barn. The maximum seated guests for the wedding breakfast is 120. If you would like to have more than this then an extra marquee would be required. The maximum number of evening guests is 200.

How many guests can stay in the accommodation?

We can accommodate 46 guests in the accommodation including the bride and groom.

Do you allow animals?

We do allow well behaved dogs as long as they are kept under control at all times.

Can we use our own caterer?

Our own chefs offer a number of set menus and set packages which should enable you to compare the quality and prices to other wedding venues. This allows us to offer a number of options that we know work well but we are always keen to hear your ideas and to work alongside you to create your very own bespoke menu.

Can we use our own florist?

Yes of course you can. Please see our suppliers list for our recommendations. However, if you have a friend or relative that can specializes in floristry, then take full advantage of them!

Are the deposits and down payments nonrefundable?

Yes. It is assumed upon booking that you fully understand this. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.

We thank him so much for everything he has done to make the weekend just perfect. Hannah and Aaron could not of had a better venue for their wedding, we are only sorry that we do not have another daughter so we can do it all again. We feel so lucky to have had the experience we have had and we enjoyed every single second."
